Years ago, I was up really late and discovered this show, Almost Live.

This was from that episode. I still have it on VHS.
It's a classic -- SO WATCH IT NOW! You'll like it as much as a guy who really, really likes it.

Oscar night recap

I mentioned yesterday that the Oscars are like a holiday in my house. Let me elaborate...

When I was little, my mom organized a group of friends that goes to see movies, appropriately named, "The Movie Group." This group goes to see as many Oscar movies as possible and then some before the awards each year. Come Oscar time, my mom and I put together a package of things (changes every year) that are Oscar/Nominated movie related and deliver them to the homes of The Movie Group families.

This year, we made cupcakes -- each cupcake representing a Best Picture nominee

Here's the packages from this year:

Top Left: Slumdog Millionaire (Three Musketeer Bar & chocolate coin)
Top Right: The Reader (Chocolate Book)
Middle: Frost/Nixon (Red, white, & blue frosting with American Flag)
Bottom Left: Milk (Rainbow made of chocolate with white "cloud" frosting)
Bottom Right: Benjamin Button (Buttons made of large Sweet Tarts and white frosting holes)

Popcorn is included every year.
There are only 6 pictured, but we made 9 total packages.

Aint got no money

Money has never been a super huge issue with  me. Mainly because I chose to live at home and commute to SF, rather than live there. Also because I have always had a part time job since... I want to say Sophomore year of High School. But no paycheck in 6 months is becoming depressing.

I saved up during the summer knowing that I wasn't going to have a paying job once school started up again. Instead, I was going to take on an internship -- of which I am extremely grateful for the amazing opportunity. Driving to the city 4-5 times a week is exhausting. I can't imagine getting a job on the weekends but I can't imagine what sort of position I will be in in a few month if I don't.

And now that my bank account is almost completely drained, I'm wondering how I'm going to survive these coming months which are filled with weddings, birthdays, and vacations.

Singin' in the Rain

California is finally seeing some rain! After a very dry January, we were blessed with some crazy rain the past few days. There is something just so incredibly refreshing about a good  downpour.

But as much as I do love the rain, and even driving in the rain, I did not enjoy all the terrible drivers who were bumping into each other nor 280 being flooded all kinds of crazy.

I have never been in San Francisco during such a strong downpour.

A photo I snapped while stuck in traffic on the Embarcadero

And as sad as I am knowing that the rain will leave us tonight, I look forward to the rainy weekend that is upon us.

Helloooo? Earth to Joaquin Phoenix!

Woah! What's going on with Joaquin? Did you guys see him on Letterman tonight? Now that was awkward!

-- Before --
Watch a minute or so to get a sense of how he use to act

--After--
Watch ALL of this!!

I think we can all agree on one thing here: Just Say No! Drugs are very bad, kids -- Especially when you're going on The Late Show!

Update: 02/12

My mom is convinced he's fooling us all - some kind of act. But until Perez Hilton confirms her beliefs, I will disagree!!

Shave her legs to discover your IQ!

Upon leaving a comment on my friend's myspace page, this ad rudely takes over my screen.
Hm... Maybe there's a new razor on the market? No, no. No, no. This is an ad for you to find out your IQ! And apparently I need to subscribe to get my results. I don't know how scientific this particular test is, but I'm assuming... not at all. My guess is that it will probably lower your IQ and give you some nice computer viruses in the mean time. And something is a little off with the guy labeled "you."

imeem

I have known about imeem for quite a while now, but never really took the time to sign up and discover all its capabilities. A few days ago, I got the urge to sign up and explore the site some more. I'm a late comer, but happy that I didn't wait a second longer!

As far as I can tell, the site is only of use to those who play music on their laptops or desktops. Even better for those who have a nice stereo system linked with your computer.

They have this massive database of music and music videos. Type in the song/album/artist you want to hear and you'll be presented with what you were looking for. Add your song to your playlist and share it with your friends. Or browse other user's playlists and add them to your favorites. You need to be connected to the internet, but you can stream your playlists as often as you want.

Best of all, it's free! So you can add as many songs as you want to your playlists and create as many playlists as you want.

imeem.com screen grab from the Home page

You can even embed your playlist on your blog or social networking site. So, there you have it. I'm sure everyone already knows about it and has an account, so here's mine. Let's be friends!

Cupcakes and Dancing. A perfect day.

After a long day of preparation, I headed over to Juanita's house to decorate the cupcakes I baked for the Super Bowl tomorrow.

I used chocolate molds to make the footballs. We then piped white icing on them. The grass is just icing with green food coloring piped out of a bag with a tip that has multiple holes. It was fun! And yes, those cupcakes are bigger than the normal cupcakes. They're HUGE! =D

After watching the Sharks lose (Booo!!), I was shown the ways of "Raving Rabbids."

Even though I lost to both Bobby and Mandy, I did have an amazing time. We danced the night away! I think I injured my wrist and my body aches from all that hip action! =D

I kid... sort of. Tomorrow I'll be at the Serrato's/Lopez's house. It'll be good times for sure!
